Upon seeing the moth trails gallery i almost immediately thought of that song: fireflies by owl city, even though i really really don’t like that song. The concept of taking pictures of the moving bugs, i thought was pretty insane in the good way, especially seeing how a lot of the pictures turned out. I especially like the second last picture and the fourth picture, because the fourth picture creates this intricate design almost like bunch of light pencil scribbles and the second last picture simply reminds me of pokemon (Pikachu’s quick attack) because of the after image which follows the insect, which is a crazy effect. I wonder if the patterns created by the moths can be recreated on paper using pencil like i mentioned earlier. After seeing these pictures I plan to try making my own moth trail designs using pencil and paper since my camera sucks :P

After seeing those pictures, I was amazed at how beautiful the trails looked. I had to read the captions again to make sure that it was moths and not something else. That’s how unbeleivable it looked and it’s hard to imagine that such a small creature can leave such a beautiful mark behind. This picture looks more like a work of art and how an artist would spray the brush onto the canvas blindfolded, yet create such an amazing masterpeice. As soon as I read the word moth, the first thing that came to my mind was my english novel last semester. What I really wanted to know was how moths create this kind of “mark” behind them. Is it something that comes out of their wings or is it something that they just simply leave behind? I plan to investigate this through researching on the internet about moths.

As I was seeing these amazing As I was seeing those amazing, cool and strong photographs, I did not look to the other projects because those photos were catching me and I felt astonish by looking at those photos. When I looked at them I thought that I was painting them, the colours were surprising and the way white lines shaped curvy and many other different shapes. It reminded me of my painting that I completed last year and its quit has bit similar to it, especially the background colours and how the white light is occurred in one spot. One thing that it knocks on my head is how is the light reflecting off the moths not overexposed by the street lamps? And how are those photos taken? Those photos gave me an enormous idea for my next photo session and I would like to use those techniques for future , I am going now to find a place like that and I will experiment with my new camera. TONIGHT!

I never thought I would ever love the beauty created by the bugs I most despise. When I first saw the pictures, I was left with my eyes open wide and my mouth gaping. The pictures look just so electrifying, and, and…I don’t even have the right words to describe! The beauty of the pictures is inexplicable! The one question that popped in my head was, “I wonder what kind of camera this person used?” I love taking pictures, and every time I see a beautiful picture, it’s one of the questions that come to mind. Another thing I wondered about was if I would be able to capture such beauty with my camera, and even if I did, would I want to stand by the streetlamp with all the moths hovering around (remember? I very much dislike moths?) Looking at these pictures, I thought of how sometimes in the hustle and bustle of our daily lives we forget the smallest things in the world that create such beauty. I would really like to take pictures of the moths by the streetlamps and hope to capture almost the same beauty depicted in the pictures…as soon as summer comes, and I pull up the courage to stand underneath the streetlamps and its hundred lovers!
